OurMED contributes to the WEFE Nexus Solutions & Tools Workshop

As part of the WEFE Nexus Solutions & Tools Workshop, the OurMED project was represented by Seifeddine Jomaa, who delivered a presentation entitled “Towards Equitable and Multisectoral Water Management at the Edge”.

The presentation showcased the OurMED vision for a more equitable and integrated approach to water management in the Mediterranean region. It highlighted the need to move beyond traditional sector-specific water management practices and adopt holistic solutions capable of balancing the needs of water supply, agriculture, ecosystems, and local communities.

Drawing on the experiences and methodologies developed within OurMED, the presentation emphasized the importance of combining advanced monitoring systems, modelling tools, stakeholder engagement processes, and digital technologies to support informed decision-making. These approaches aim to strengthen resilience to climate change, improve resource efficiency, and foster collaboration among the different sectors that depend on water resources.

The workshop provided an opportunity to exchange knowledge with researchers, practitioners, and policymakers working on WEFE Nexus challenges, while showcasing how OurMED contributes to the development of innovative solutions for sustainable water management across the Mediterranean.

Through its activities, OurMED continues to promote integrated and participatory approaches that support the transition towards more resilient, inclusive, and sustainable water governance systems.
